The point on earth where astronauts become the nearest humans. The furthest point from land lies in the heart of the Pacific Ocean known as “oceanic pole of inaccessibility” or “Point Nemo” which means “no-one” in Latin. Found by Lukatela using just a computer software. The area is so remote that the officials turned it into dumping zone for space junks known officially as the “South Pacific Ocean Inhabited Area”. A cemetery, believed to be a home for more than hundreds of decommissioned space craft including satellites, cargo ships, space stations like “Mir” and “Salyut”.
Point Nemo possibly has the least biological activity in the oceanic region, but there’s a lot of plastic activity going on here. So yes, the most inhabitant place on earth is complemented by 26 microplastic particles per cubic meter and unfortunately is polluted.
