Researchers from Nevada and Hong Kong tallied the viral genome from the initial and second infection. They found significant differences between both the viruses, which indicates separate variants of the virus. Therefore, the possibility of a second infection cannot be completely ruled out. However, few cases of reinfection among millions of recovery might not be enough to conclude anything on the immune response to SARS-CoV2 yet.
