As of now, 9,00,000 people died of the infection from the deadly SARS-CoV2, leaving millions infected. Perhaps there will be someone fighting the virus while we write this article. Besides, the news that broke out about the reinfection from the virus can put most of us to worry.

Recently, Hong Kong reported a reinfection asymptomatic case. The absence of symptoms might be an indication of the immune system's ability to remember its previous encounter with the virus and fight back. But that wouldn’t be the case when the virus tends to mutate, changing the conformation of its spike protein.

Soon after another case of reinfection has been reported from Nevada with severe symptoms. Therefore presumption on long-term immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 would be vague. Researchers from Nevada and Hong Kong tallied the viral genome from the initial and second infection. They found significant differences between both the viruses, which indicates separate variants of the virus. Therefore, the possibility of a second infection cannot be completely ruled out. However, few cases of reinfection among millions of recovery might not be enough to conclude anything on the immune response to SARS-CoV2 yet.
